Guinness Amplify’s 2014 “pick of Connacht”, piano-based songstress Ailie Blunnie returns to Whelan’s with her band, following her sell-out performance there earlier this year. With a “tenderness” and “beauty” that “lends weight to her sweet-natured compositions” (Lauren Murphy, Irish Times), Ailie’s particular brand of cabaret-pop and folk music has begun to attract the attention of music and literary critics alike.  Throw in a few laughs, tears and ponderings on the quirks of life, and you’re in for a great night.

“So new, so fresh, and so good” (Carl Corcoran, The Blue of the Night, RTÉ Lyric fm)
“One of the country’s leading young poets” (Brian Lynch, Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Festival 2014)
